An existing amenities building at War Memorial Park was in disrepair, lacked universally accessible facilities and baby change facilities. The building entry was hidden from the street and had limited scope for passive surveillance.
Conversion into a unisex accessible facility incorporates baby change and bicycle parking. Council's brief was to remodel the building on a small budget.
Relocation of entry provides direct sight lines linking the street to the park and allowing passive surveillance in accordance with CPTED principles.
Brightly coloured screen envelopes the existing windows, filters light and privacy and provides easily recognised facilities from anywhere across the park.
